Young ISE: Let's Learn English!

Young ISE offer a complete package of study, accommodation, activities, visits and sports. Courses run for up to 12 weeks, allowing youngsters the chance to really improve their English and make friends from all over the world.

Young ISE is suitable for young learners aged 8 - 12 and 12 - 17

What is different about learning English at Young ISE? We know that you learn best by doing, which is why the Young ISE lessons are full of activities where you use and practise English. Our experienced and student-focused teachers make sure lessons are exciting and fun.

Classes

Students study every morning from 9:30 to 12:30, with a short break, usually around 11:00, for 10 minutes. Students will also receive homework to be completed for the next day. Groups are taught at up to 6 different levels with class sizes of 5 to 15.

Teachers

Our teaching staff are carefully selected. They work to develop each student's English Language to the best of their abilities, using a range of communicative classroom techniques. We make sure our teachers of Young People are specially trained to teach young students and on average our teachers have 8 years experience.

Students

ISE has many different nationalities at the school and English is the only language used in class! During last summer we taught students from 28 different countries; our top six nationalities were: Italian, Spanish, German, Estonian, Austrian and French.

Visits

Brighton Pavilion, Brighton & Hove Museum, Lazer Zone, Sealife Centre, Arundel Castle, Lewes Castle, Devil's Dyke, Drusillas Zoo Park, Zippo's Circus, Brighton Pier, Beachy Head & Seven Sisters, The Rockery, Stanmer Park Farm and Brighton Racecourse.

Activities
Cinema, Ten Pin Bowling, Swimming (Sea and Pool), Indoor Climbing, Racketball, Treasure Hunt, Ghost Walk, Dance Workshop (Bachata, Zumba, Hip Hop and Salsa), Photo Race, Sea Fishing, Raft Building (& Testing!), Sea Canoeing, River Kayaking, Mountain Biking, Beach Volleyball, Football, Basketball, Tennis, Kung Fu, Yoga, Pottery Class, Evening Disco, Team Frisbee, Rounders/Baseball and Park Olympics.

All activities are run and accompanied by a qualified instructor or responsible Youth Leader as appropriate.

Weekend activities include day trips to:

London including a guided Sightseeing. Big Ben, Piccadilly Circus, Buckingham Palace, The Tower of London, St James Park Oxford Street Shopping & River Cruise.

Portsmouth & Isle of Wight

Eastbourne & Cookmere Haven

Optional Extras

We can also offer trips to many destinations, with our partner Discovery Tours, as well as complete weekend trips to:

Accommodation

Accommodation is very important for younger students. At ISE we use host families and registered foster families as required. Our families are located throughout Brighton & Hove. We inspect all families on application and then on a regular basis. Students will typically be placed in a shared room with another student if aged 14 or under.

Care & Safety

From arrival in the UK until departure, ISE will supervise students to ensure their safety and comfort. Students are monitored during lunchtime and throughout all afternoon activities. All students will use Brighton & Hove Buses to travel around Brighton.
